The most embarrassing and hackneyed trailer in recent memory...?

Every time I thought this trailer (particularly the text used within in) had sunk to a new low, it managed to top itself. Most of these sentences don't even make sense. So bad I barely even manged to laugh...

Dude : "I only want him to have what I never had"
Wife : "What makes you think he wants what you never had?"

George Lucas ghost-writing this one perhaps?

    OH. MY. GOOD. CHRIST...

    What the hell is that!?

    From IMDB:

'This was filmed in early 2003 in Galway, but the Belgian production company ran out of money before filming was complete, and the whole thing was shelved. Most of the crew were left with quite a bit of money owed to them, as well as local businesses.

Somehow more filming was done in Dublin in 2006, and some previous crew members who were alerted to it managed to reclaim some of their lost pay cheques from 3 years earlier. However, several people have still not been paid.'

In fairness to my original bid, Forever strong is a film that will be in theatres and it was an actual trailer. By all appearances this Waiting for Dublin thing is some kind of hastily thrown together promo (probably a desperate bid to make some money out of what sounds like something of a fiasco).

Still it is the entertainment equivalent of brain surgery with a rusty chisel.
    Good find!

On a somewhat related note, does it ever surprise people that films like both of these examples acutally manage to get made? Surely elements like the aerial photography and the rental of the period aircraft would mean that Waiting for Dublin cost a fair amount. It just makes you wonder if anyone thought beforehand - is this worth making?

    Any thoughts?

American's playing rugby? WTF is that all about?

Give them a chance! They've played a sport called 'Rugby for Pussies' for generations now so they already know the fundamentals.

Anyone seen the trailer for Marley&Me? It's basically a dog running down a beach in slow motion for 60 seconds, and then a quick shot of Owen Wilson crying out, also in slow motion, 'Marleyyyyyyyyy'....then it ends.

Without doubt the worst and most pointless trailer ever.

    From IMDB:
Did a 5 year old make that trailer?

Anyone seen the trailer for Marley&Me?

Was about to mention that one. Horrible trailer altogether:

    Poor Owen Wilson.

Isn't there a famous picture of George W. playing rugby in College? I think it's on Snopes but I can't access that at work.

Oh right. Can't say I've ever heard of that book and neither had anyone else in the cinema yesterday judging by the reactions.

well its BIG in america (yes I wikied this last night :D ) with not only a bestseller but also a kids book and a picture book.

So my guess is the mere imagry and the cry by jennifer aniston (I know Owen Wilson looks like a wrinkled old woman, but thats is aniston shouting out) sends shivers down entire families who have read the books.

only in televised football, they are compulsory ad breaks, it is said that television has ruined the sport at professional level

both sports are very stop/start by their nature anyway

but yeah, americans do play rugby

Ah yes, Damien Chapa the poor mans Steven Spielberg. He's his latest epic. I love how not only do they use the music from Sunshine where Carpa is trying to get to the bomb but that you can clearly hear Cillian Murphy breathing.

My God, what have I created...

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I have read Marley and Me and as far as
blatant emotion whores go it is very effective. And who doesn't think Labradors are great - really.

    Anyone...

As for the film, I'm confident that any of the canine cast will act Wilson and Aniston off the screen. And will probably look better doing it as well.

this is an actual 2002 movie

"The congregation is concerned that your brother's homosexuality may rub off on their children" I mean with quotes like that

    find all info here http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0364986/

i had to find the worst movie on Imdb to find this!

The soundtrack for that film hasn't been released yet due to legal wrangles so the only way you can get (most of) the music is by actually ripping from the film directly!

It's still a pretty cheap thing to do though! not to mention illegal! :)

I've been waiting for the soundtrack for a long time. Have the ripped version myself and love it but the fact that they went to the trouble of ripping the song from the film and using it is a bit much. I kind of wanted to see that film though, it looks so bad that it may well be brilliant.

It is a bit much indeed!

The soundtrack is pure class, I have the ripped version also. I'm hoping they release it properly soon so i can obtain a proper copy, sans dialogue!

In some parts I think the dialogue actually enhances the experience. Where Capra is racing to the bomb the sound of his breating really enhances the tension and the piece where the girl talks about falling into the sun is a great piece.

Yeah! some of the tunes are reminiscent of the music in Carl Sagans Cosmos (a brilliant documentary series if you haven't seen it) very relaxing!

I've heard of it but never seen it. One of the tracks from Sunshine was on the last Underworld album which everytime I hear I get sleepy. First time I listened to it I fell asleep at work.

If you like documentaries about space you should definitley check it out! it was made in the 70s and a lot of guess work went into it but it still stands up today, it's pretty mindblowing stuff! 13 parts altogether, I can't recommend it enough!

Ok, So I agree that this trailer is really poor. Which is a shame because i have actually seen a screening of this movie and it was decent. It wasn't quite Remember the Titans but it was a lot better as a movie than it is as a trailer which doesn't happen very often.
