A double room has one double bed - a marriage bed as out continental neighbours would call it.

A twin room has two single beds, for one person each.

If you rent a double room (or indeed a twin room) there is no obligation for you to put another person in the room, only to pay the rent for the whole room.

Ye, a 'double' room doesnt mean your sharing a the double bed with someone else, you should be so lucky :D
