Is it a Triax dish? If so, you can use the Triax 4 way Multi-LNB arm for those 4 birds.

This is the setup I use currently, with 4 Inverto Silver LNB's (slightly narrower horn than others, allowing me to get them closer together)

Oh, sorry, I misread that. I thought you meant those were the 4 you were after!

Funny, enough, I've just ordered a Dark Motor for my 1.1m as I'm now keen on receiving 1W as well as the other 4 (other sats a bonus but not essential). Got it on eBay for 60eur+12eur shipping which wasn't too bad.

As for Linux boxes, I'm not sure. If you were to get one, I'd now say get one that's using open Linux where you can have full control of what you load onto it. I've an Octagon HD box, but while it has Linux, it's closed, and so you've basically to make do with what you're given in the updates.

Are you considering a HD Linux box, or just a standard SD box (more choice in the latter).

If you are referring to a linux based receiver then yes they can take some getting used to when it comes to editing them or putting newer images on them. But like everything it is not insurmountable.

If you have any more specific questions please post them up and I will help you as best I can.

fixed positions, or it that the multiblock bar that allows LNBs to be placed anywhere?

Would i be better off with a linux receiver than currently technomate 5300

    Linux receivers are all different.
technomate might even be Linux based.

Like Byte says, Linux doesn't meanyou can change things.
Android, Archos, Sony Mylo, Lyngbox and many gadgets use Linux but you can't change anything.

Most ALL of the "open" Linux boxes I've used are rubbish SW compared with the "closed" boxen.

I'm using the PLi version of Enigma 1 - "Jade" - at the moment and find it to be excellent - massive functionality - highly configurable using the remote - loads of plug-ins - nice web interface - flawless network streaming - media centre integration with vlc running on a PC doing real time transcoding - 7 day epg - and the whole thing seems bug free after 3 or 4 weeks of everyday use.

and the box was cheap - €110 incl shipping

EDIT: I had a technomate 1500 before this and they are rubbish by comparison (except the 9100 which runs enigma based images afaik)

The TM9100 has come along way in a relatively short space of time, the images are getting better and better and more stable, once you get the hang of installing images etc, then they are quite easy to use and operate.

I have a mixture of Linux boxes including DM500S, TM9100 and a Kathrein UFS 910 hd receiver, and the TM9100 is the one i use most often ... its far more configurable and gives plenty of scope for future enhancements.

Images are being released quite often that push the boundaries of it even further
