    Hi all,

Anyone use a Macbook for recording? I've heard great things about the software included with Apple computers. I'm thinking of purchasing one out in the States but would like to know more about the audio and visual editing software.

    Cheers

For audio and video editing you've come to the right place. A mac will be perfect for podcasting, but i would recommend purchasing a desktop mic if you want very good sound.

There are a couple of free/cheap audio recording apps for the Mac that lend themselves perfectly to recording podcasts.

Soundstudio costs about 60 euro and is well featured with some useful plugins.

Audacity is free but I think you'll need to download the Lame encoder to export as .mp3 but this too is free.

That's a nice Mic by the way. What's the sound quality like ? I'm assuming it's ok considering it's a capacitor.
