    • customs?

Well if you want to do some electronic shopping - Singapore is your only man. Other things are cheap there too, shopping seems to be the main pastime of the locals there.

Singapore will cater for you nicely and if you FLY out you get your tax/vat back.

Ask for export models, they will know everything and more, unbox before you get to home ideally to avoid a sting on customs but its rare.

The vendors seemed eager to sell, but not pushy or dodgy. In the experiences we had (we bought a macbook & camera accessories) they were very helpful and went out of their way to find what we wanted. Never at any stage felt like they were doing the 'hardsell' or trying to sell us something we didn't want (not like New York camera shops!).

I thought Hong Kong was the new Singapore in terms of cheap electronics.

I was in Singapore a few weekends ago but didn't purchase anything so couldn't tell you how much cheaper it is.

We flew into Singapore & left via Bangkok, didn't think the duty free in Bangkok was cheap at all! We saved about 30% on Irish prices in Singapore incl the VAT back in the airport.

Going on experience in KL, they will most likely have NTSC and PAL (Japanese) Play Station 3s. They may also have European PAL but they will be more expensive. I have a Japanese Wii and it is fine. Your games console will most likely be sold already cracked too unless you go to a reputable dealer.
