Does alcohol affect the morning after pill?

I was very foolish and careless recently with the guy I've been seeing casually. We didn't have full sex, but things happened and long story short I took the morning after pill yesterday to be completely safe, for peace of mind. I'd never been in that situation before thank god as I'm usually far more sensible and reserved when it comes to sex.

My issue is this. I read all the instructions that came with it, I took it correctly and very soon after the contact happened. I didn't get sick or anything after it. But I did drink a good few drinks the night I took the pill, like a few hours after taking it. I didn't even think tbh, I should have. Now I'm just getting worried again that perhaps the fact that I drank with the pill in my system I may have caused it to lose affect or something. I didn't see anything in the pill instructions about not drinking, and I may just be totally paranoid, but I'm worried.

This is why I should have been more careful in the first place, but 20/20 vision in hindsight is no use to me now. Does anyone know about the effect, if any, alcohol might have on the effectiveness of the morning after pill? Thank you for reading.

I don't think alcohol affects it, but check with the manufacturer to be sure.

As far as I'm aware unless you got sick and puked the pill back up or are on other conflicting medication, it should work. i've never heard of alcohol interfering with it. I'd imagine if it did it would be made explicitly clear on the packaging. But if I were you I'd pop into the chemist to double check. They should be able to tell you. Don't worry too much though I'm sure it's fine.

In fairness the idea of using the morning after was because of a stupid mistake by not wearing protection ... which drink makes us do stupid things lol.

imagine the irony if alcohol did conflict cause i'd go as far as to say 80% of people take the pill the next day after drinking lol.

I always find that Google is one's friend in these circumstances.

Looks like you're in the clear, notwithstanding a bit of preaching on the site.

And the point made above about puking up because of the alcohol is very relevant - do that and it certainly won't work.

Do NOT use google for medical advice, I suggest you ring who ever dispensed the pills to you ie the chemist or the dr that wrote you the prescription for them and get a professional opinion.
