So I'm thinking of improving my camo collection. Which is poor at the moment. I was hopinhg that some of the lads here might share tips and pointers.
If it works out it may become a good reference thread.

    A few questions to get started (although not a complete list);
    1. What is your most important piece of Camo gear?
    2. Where do you source your gear?
    3. What's a good lightweight jacket?
    4. Do you use trousers and/or full suits?
    5. Do you use a camo hide or netting?
    6. Show us your ghillie!!!:D:D

I've included all aspects of camo (to help others maybe), i'm most interested in a good lightweight jacket for warm weather and maybe a camo net or hide. I've seen a lot pf jackets online but the main problem is that there is no way to tell how heavy or light it is. I think it would be a great help is the total weight was iucluded with the spec.

    .

    1. Couldn't say which piece of camo is most important - when vermin or duck shooting I use all camo - jacket, trousers, hat, facemask, gloves, boots & shotgun. Can't really choose one as the whole lots work as a set. All the camo is Realtree but not the same pattern - mixture of Advantage timber, hardwoods, realtree green etc.

    2. I always buy jacket & trousers in shop - need to try it on to test fit when swinging gun, etc. I've three shooting jackets & they're all different sizes so I'd never buy jacket without trying it on. I buy everything else on e-bay & on line shops.
I was buying springs for pheasant feeders in Galliel, Allenwood, Co. Kildare last weekend and he has a good selection of gear at very reasonable prices - sale now on on lots of items.http://www.galliel.com/

    3. Don't have one - I use jacket in winter & long sleeve camo shirt in summer.

    4. I always wear full kit.

    5. I find Realtree nets brilliant - lightweight & good pattern. When purchasing there is hide netting & there is hide burlap. When you buy the hide there are gaps in the netting. If you put the burlap (like camo fine netting) behind the net you can see out through gaps but from a distance they cannot see you - like a double net.

    Thanks JR, good post there.
I suppose I could of worded the first question better,
Was thinking more along the lines of "Which piece of gear could you (each hunter) not do without"
As in, which is you favourite bit
