I'm trying to help sort someones CAO application out, they're away at the moment so we don't know their CAO password, or the email address they used or any of their email passwords. We're trying to change one of their choices before thursday.

Any help on what we should do?

Change one of their courses? No change can be made now.

Anyway I suggest you get in contact with the person and get the details of them...
    Or maybe call the cao.

all you can do now is accept an offer.

All your friend can do now is apply for a course with a vacant place as listed on www.cao.ie unless they get what they want in a later round of offers. Can't be moving courses around on the CAO form at this stage :D. Yesterday there were still 75 level 8 courses and about 150 level 6/7 courses with available places. As long as the minimum entry requirements are satisfied surely he/she can pick 1 out of 225 ;).

Thanks everyone, they're applying to one of the vacant places on a level 6 course. They're on holidays at the moment without their phone and we're having trouble getting through to friends.

Is there any way to apply to the course not using CAO?

there are some courses where you apply direct to the college but if its under the umbrella of the cao then you may have to sweat it out until they come back from hols

i don't suppose you could apply as a new applicant. might be seen as dishonest, but if you got permission from the cao in writing it could be a runner. 45 euro for a new applicant to a vacant course i think

ring the higher education institution where the course is ........they should be delighted to try and accommodate you but may say procedure is
    procedure

Got it sorted, we threw caution to the wind and brazenly put in a second application, hoping against hope to avoid the threatened €10 fine! After we put that in we got in touch and found out his password so fixed that up too so he's well covered.

    Thanks all
