Not a member of GAA club mossy, may just do my best to round up a few mates in work who might be able to get a hold of 2, i imagine there is going to be a mad dash for these as i am living in kilkenny the chances of getting them are slim i would say..:(

Hmmmm a few weeks ago you start a thread about fund raising for your GAA club and now all of a sudden you get an e-mail about this competition which you are good enough to post in multiple forums.

Please read the charter no spamming advertisements

Ticketmaster don't usually get any allocation for All-Ireland finals, whether that will ever be changed I don't know.

Tickets for a final are never easy to get but if you try hard enough you'll usually get one in the end. Just keep putting the feelers out and follow up every possible route to getting your hands on one. You'll find as it gets nearer to the day there's always a few flying around, it can take a bit of effort though!

If you think tickets will be scarce in Kilkenny just imagine the scramble in Waterford considering it's their first final in decades!

Think your being a bit anal there consdiering this is not for personal or commercial gain but rules are rules. Also I think you should take up your tip on reading the fundraising post was a lot longer than a few weeks ago.

There are plenty of threads around here on this kind of thing, and as I say in all of them, there can never be any system that is completely fair. As is the case every year, in recent weeks we've seen several threads going up about people who deserve tickets that can't get them, and they all have a very good case for deserving one. We can all list good criteria to make a case for people to get tickets. However, no matter how justified they are, and they all are, the amount of deserving people far exceeds the capacity of Croke Park, so like it or not, distributing tickets through the clubs is the best way of getting tickets as near as possible to real GAA fans. The deserving people won't all get satisfied, and worse there will be some non-deserving people there - though a tiny minority - but there is nothing that can ever be done to satisy everyone.

The modern upgrading of Croke Park that began in late 1993 increased the capacity by 20,000 people but that still isn't enough. If between today and the Hurling final, you miraculously added another 20,000 seats there would still be deserving people that could not be accommodated, even if there was not a single person there that didn't deserve one. That's the reality of it. So all we can do is try our best to get a ticket. Good luck.

I fail to see why. Players yes but family if the players have died?

It's just another one of the "deserving criteria" Mossy Monk. As I've said, there are loads of them, and there are always ones to suit some individual or other.

you should have been getting to know the gaa heads during the year... attending the odd match... gettin in there... there the fellas you need to be lookin for the tickets off of!!

go to the club and see what ya can get.. however if your 'not known' i.e. your not a gaa head then chances are they wont give you any!!

Or maybe all these "deserving" people should've followed their county/club down through years before they started winning provincial c'ships and getting to AI finals....
