Anyone following this chap? He first came to my attention when he dad e-mailed William Hills racing radio and said a 14/1 shot should do well - he won (and no I wasn't on it). Looking at his stats on racing post he is deffo one to follow, esp with his 5lb claim.

Riding for Andrew Balding and has a 33% win rate (15/46), his overall rate is 13%. His win rate on 2 year olds is 26% and total places 1-2-3-4 is 50%.

    Mike.

Yep, Probert is doing very well for himself. He's been on a lot of gambled horses lately. We'll only see how good he is when he loses his claim, he's on the same standing as Ryan Moore, Frankie Dettori et al when that happens.

    2:10 HANDICAP 0m 5f 6y (sandown)

Drawn on the rail for this sprint, 2.75/1 on PP right now. The form book suggests this is between 3 horses (two favs pulled out) one of which Aakef (son of Exceed And Excel) being Jarvis/Hills should attract some money but is drawn on the wrong side. The other player is Tishtar, a Hannon/Huges combo.

Its his only race at Sandown, the rest are at Sailsbury late afternoon. 4.35 Dametime could be in the places.

Funny how the horses second and third runs were over 7 furlongs. Youd think the trainer would have twigged from the gallops that the horse is all about speed? Handy that the horse was alloted a mark of 68 after those runs. Heavily gambled on its handicap debut, bolts in. Horse initially made its racecourse debut for Paul Block and lay ridden by Dean McKeown and was heavily gambled into 8/15 but finished 2nd. Profile is similiar to Benbaun when that started its racing career. 3 runs over 7 furlongs, low handicap mark and then bang, switched to 5f, lands a punt on its handicap debut.
