From reading a few electronics & gadgets websites, the rumour was that Dell's version of the EEEPC was due on the UK market today.

I was speaking to someone in the know today who would know a week in advance of any release and he still hasnt heard a jiffy.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the pricing on these little fellas. If its a good deal, I'll be first in the queue.

Has anyone else heard when they might be released?

rumour was that it should have been out by now but have not heard anything really about them since rumours last month.

They look good and the spec of them is good if the leaks are anything to go by, i am looking forward to their release and to see the price of them.

These look great if keenly priced as do the NEW Asus EEE competitors being released supposedly for similar money (to 'original' EEEs.The new range of netbooks seem to be so much more streamlined and flashy looking like a 'mini' executive laptop and not the 'Barbie' look of the original(all of hardly 12 months old) EEE.Im not sure Im entirely happy about this despite being a (straight!) guy .The early models had a certain charm about them .Its unreal how quickly things in the PC 'world' evolve ...compared with say lawn mowers (I was cutting the grass today!),microwaves or even cars ...Take the SuperPi (software to calculate Pi to millions of decimal places)times of a decent PC....They have probably halved in the last 3 or 4 years ...what other area of consumer 'tech' has gotten twice as fast in the last 3 or 4 years ?!

Still not a sniff of these little fellas being released onto the market. A friend of mine is a network technician in the states and has a contact in Dell who still hasn't heard a release date.

At this stage I'm hoping for a Christmas release!
