    Hi there,

i'm trying to connect to the above router, but with no success. i'm currently online (with Eircom), but I'm getting no response when browsing or pinging 192.168.1.1.

I've switched on/off the router n times, and stuck a pen in the reset hole, again to no avail.

any suggestions? i'm trying to get onto the router to change the NAT settings for my XBox.

cheers for any and all responses...

    Dave

Go to start > run type cmd into the pop up box
type ipconfig into the black box and you'll see a number beside default gateway, type that number in to your browser.

    What Ian said.

Also how are you connecting to the router?
What lights are you getting on the router.

if you cant ping or open the default gateway then you may have a firewall problem. Since the 3300 series, 3341 3342 3347, eircom's default gateway is 192.168.1.254

First try the simple disable and re-enabling of your network connection (don't click repair) and if that doesn't work try the suggestions here but with your software firewall temporarily disabled and also make sure Windows Firewall is turned off. It should be off anyway if you use a different software firewall program like Norton, Zone Labs and so on.
