I have only done two, the first I wore running shorts and a cycling jersey, the second a Descente Aero-XT Tri Suit from Probikekit which was much better, I was very happy with it indeed. I had Descente bibshorts already, they make very good quality kit.

I wear running shorts & t-shirt. I was considering buying one of these outfits above, but they are quite pricey....and at my level, probably not worth it for the sake a few seconds if any...though i would look like a pro :) This and sun glasses, and you are a champion;)
20km cycling without cushioning (e.g running shorts) is no problem IMO.

If you are wearing a baggy t-shirt its a bit more than a few seconds.

(Reasoning being flapping in the wind etc etc)

TBH 911sc my main reason for suggesting one was simply the comfort involved, it worked very well for both the cycling and the running while cycling clothes are not generally very comfortable for running in and vice-versa. I too can cycle 20km no probs in running shorts but doing it in a flappy running top would not be fun!

I'm sure it would help with the times too but I was mainly thinking of comfort. PBK have tri suits from ~€42 or thereabouts shipped so it is not a phenomenal outlay.
