What kind of horror are you looking for? Lots of jumps and frights ([REC]) or tension and unease (The Mist)?

The Strangers is out next week I think.

The Orphanage is pretty jumpy in parts(I thought)
    Have you seen it?

There are virtually no scary movies released anymore which is quite sad really.

Saw 47 is out in 2 months, and Mirrors (a horror with Jack Bauer :)) is out even sooner.

From the clips I seen of this film last night it reminded me of a film I seen called "THEM". It was a French film based in Romania I think.

    Tokyo Gore Police

    Death Race

    Eden Lake

Might not be great, just one's I'd be interested in.

It's a really bad rip off of Them. The only scary part is afterwards when you realise it's a serious film.

One horror I'm really looking forward to is the Swedish film Let The Right One In. Supposedly it's quite incredible, and from the trailer, it looks like it.

2 years. Let the Right One In (2010).

These days they start putting remakes into pre-production before the originals are even out. Quarantine is a 2008 remake of a 2007 film, Rec. Hollywood is closing the gap between remake and original so far now that pretty soon you'll have American productions rushed out before the originals are even finished filming. ;)

OK after watching REC last night and being blown away at how scary it was, I watched Inside tonight, not really in the same class as REC. I think they made it bloody and graphic just for the hell of it ala Hostel, Saw etc, tbh it was only ok, I'd say they based it around a true event that happened in the US around 2 years ago
where a woman cut open a nearly full term pregnant woman and took her baby, the woman died and they eventually caught the woman with the baby
. Also can anyone explain to me what the story was with the
Cop who was shot in the head and came back to life and looked like his eyes were gone and he started beating on the pregnant woman??? And was the killer holding a dead baby??

Just ok might watch the strangers tomorrow night.

Was a bit confused by that too.My take on it was that the cop had just suffered a massive head trauma so he just lost the run of himself.Dont think the baby at the end was dead.

I agree with the makers trying to make it as graphic and nasty as possible but I wouldnt lump it in with Saw or Hostel.Inside is on a totally different level to those franchises.

    Actually
I was reading on the net that there was an additional scene after the last set 15 years later where the teenager comes to the house to look at the stairs where they were born. Also with the Cop as he had his eyes taken out he probably thought the woman was the killer and thats why he attached, although it doesn't really make that much sense.
Ok its a bit wrong to lump it in with the Hostel Saw franchises, I mean it starts off almost like a french art movie, but when the gore kicks in its like they are trying to out torture porn the americans, which I don't think they needed to do as it would have stood up as a decent movie without the graphic violence.

Watched this film over the weekend. The 1st 35 mins are good (tension and storyline between the couple) the rest I predicted which was actually too predictable. Shame really but its what I expected in the end.
