    Over the moon.

Shot a 2 over 74 in Dundalk on Wednesday (45pts)
Beat my best ever score by 4 shots
    1 eagle, 1 birdie, 11 pars and 5 bogies

Won the competition which was quite emotional personally as it was held in memory of a very dear family froend who sadly passed away last January.

Handicap cut from 11 to 9

Not trying to boast at all. Just thought I share the news with you.

    Still on cloud nine.

Well done DS! Especially after what you said happened on the last couple of holes in a recent post. You're obviously playing v well. That's great shooting!

Wow - that's great stuff altogether. You fairly trounced your record there.

Is it your first time down to single figures?

    Great score and well done.
Looks like a nice consistent round there with the gloss of an eagle and getting to single figures for good measure. Great to do it in competition and better again that it was a particularly meaningful one to you.

I was thinking of starting a 'How low can you go' thread here during the week :)

My best score in competition is even par (off 5, 4 & 3 handicaps) so 41 points is my best.
In practice last year I shot 70 off the white tees which is 1 under par (the SSS is 70 off the whites). A couple of weeks later I birdied the 18th to shoot a 2 under par 69 off the blue tees (SSS of 72) but again it wasn't in a competition :(

My hottest start was -4 thru 8, again in a friendly round...
I have been -4 for 11 holes and walked in (11th is near the clubhouse and had to go to work)...
I've had 4 birdies in a row once ever.
Never had an ace but eagled a par 4 once (holed a wedge).

I'd really like to play something like my best ever golf in a competition just once ;)

Great shooting Dublin Spur, well done!

I had my first ever under par round in competition a few weeks back. A 2 under par 68 to equal the course record.

I was actually gutted when i came off though as i 3-stabbed from 12 feet or so on 18 for a bogey. The round also included a double bogey from the middle of the fairway with just a 6 iron in my hand.

All that gave me 43 pts - also a best ever. Typical though, some bugger came in with 44 to beat me!

Really given me the confidence that i can go even lower though.

    1 eagle, 1 birdie, 11 pars and 5 bogies

I know the course well. Where did you have the eagle? What did you have on 17 and 18?

Great shooting, especially for an 11 hcap.

I shot 5 over par off the championship tees at Castlebar Golf course last summer playing off a handicap of 12. Missed the gross prize by a shot!

I haven't played enough this summer to get cut. But Captains is this weekend so you never know :pac:

-2 off the white tee's on my home course Waterford Castle (par 72). Best off the back stakes is level par.

The eagle was on the 10th.
Drive - Hybrid to 4 feet - Putt
    4 on 17th and 4 on 18th (missed a 10footer for birdie)
    Really lovely golf course

Back with a bump today - 33pts at the links in Portmarnock.
3 birdies but a lot of rubbish in-between.
    Funny Old game eh ??

-2 69 off the back tees at my home club in a medal so I have the course record! Actually a pro-am came to our course a while after and pro's shot 5,6 and 7 unders but I still have the record because the course was altered for the pro-am:D:D

    Over the moon.

Shot a 2 over 74 in Dundalk on Wednesday (45pts)

In one of our junior competitions up in our place I had 45 points and came third! My little bro had 46 and another young guy had 49! I know that scoring can be crazy in these junior comps but nearly quit golf that day!!! :D

Congrats Dublin Spur, that's great stuff!

My best in competition was a 69 in Milltown which I think was off the back tees - not that it makes much difference there!

Since starting back playing the best I've done is a 74 (+2) in South County to win the July Medal last month.

Well done Dublin Spur, a great score and getting to single figures as the cherry on top, congrats!!
Excellent shooting, you should be delighted with yourself, I know I would be..

My best gross is a 75, a few times on my home course (Forrest Little), the last in the vice captains this year, bogeyed 18 and had 40pts, beaten on the countback:mad:
    Was kickin myself!!

2 under is the course record in limerick gc  I would have thought about 5 or 6 would be, it's not that hard! Fair play though, must be a great feeling to go under par and get a course record :)))

My best round is level par off 8, I went 1 under in a practice round up in Massereene the other day.
