As the title says, i'm starting a part-time degree on the week starting 22nd sept. it's 3 evenings a week (tues-thurs, 6pm - 9.30pm). the thing is, i only recently decided to enroll, and already had 2 weeks holidays booked from the 6th to the 20th of Oct. so basically i'm missing 6 evenings worth of classes. what i'm hoping is that someone has done something somilar to this before and can advise what i'll need to do to catch up, i.e. labs, getting notes, extra study, etc. in summary i'm in for weeks 1 & 2, off for 3 & 4, then back in 5, 6 is the mid-term break, then in for the 7th to 13th week, then it's christmas break. i think i can make up the ground, but i'd like to hear from someone who has actually expierienced something similar.

i will get slaughtered but just say your on work commitments for them 2 weeks and they will probably give you the slides.

If the lecturers have any sense and its a part time (evening) then they know nearly everyone is in full time employment thus will have work commitments.

Is there any chance you could talk to someone who is in the second year of the degree? They might be able to tip you off on what would be likely to be covered. Then get your hands on the reading list and start reading a bit ahead now. You will enjoy your holiday more if you minimise the work you'll need to do when you get back..

Will be doing the same as you this year (am in 3rd year) and coincidentally going away the same 2 weeks as you! I have started to read ahead so at least if we get hit with an essay shortly after I return, there won't be so much reading to do.

Here's a crazy idea - why not talk to the lecturers? :D

Seriously. As somebody who lectures evening classes, if somebody told me they were going to be out, I would make sure to give them all the help I could.

Night classes are on a particularly tight schedule, so missing that number of classes will put you at a disadvantage. However, it is the start of the semester, so you should be able to catch up.

I don't know if the college you are going to uses Moodle, but I always put material covered up online for this very reason.
