A friend of mine bought the same one. It is a beautiful looking laptop, and the spec is good, good for multimedia. Just be aware that the slot in the side is an ExpressCard 54 slot, not a PCMCIA slot.

They wont sell it to you with XP, asked the guy in there to downgrade it and they want to charge you another €100. Vista is okay if you do not have existing software that needs to be run. If you plan on running the same software that you are currently running on XP, on the new Vista laptop, then make sure that it will actually run. YOu will find in a lot of the cases that it wont and you will have to buy new software.

    Lovely looking laptop though.

Ive had one a wk or two,i like it a lot,and i was very wary of buying acer. The only problem(for me) is i can't seem to turn the mics off, which gives me feedback sometimes. There's prolly an easy solution to this though.

if its anything like xp just open the volume controls and under the mic slider check mute box. if there is no slider showing for mic click options then properties and in the (show the following sliders) box check the one for mic and then when it appears mute it as above. hope that makes sense.

Would the graphics card work well? Would it hold up to the latest games? Its a ATI Radeon HD 3470

I'd say it would struggle to be honest, your talking very low settings on the latest games, if they will run at all. It would cope with older games however.

Alright cool, any chance you would know a good laptop with those specs except for a better graphics card?

    Hi just to update..
I successfully downgraded this to XP without much hassle, got all of the software working grand. In response to the gaming question, it's NOT a gaming laptop, though it should run older games as mentioned above. The battery life is very good, and the sound quality from the on board card is good.

Just be sure that you know that the card port on the side is NOT a PCMCIA slot. It is an ExpressCard 54 slot.
