Just wondering around about how much electricians cost. I am building a 350sqft house just going to get a normal set up nothing fancy. I have a friend who said he could quote by the hour or just a labour price. what ever i want. he said he will do it for 20 euro an hour. he said it could take about 3-4 weeks to do the 1st fix and 1 week to do the 2nd fix.

I got a price of 4grand labour from a differnet guy and 2900 for materials.

which do you guys think would be better?

If it was me I'd go with the fixed price.

the main thing for you here is to make sure that the plans suit you, have all the sockets and phone/data/TV points you want etc. Are Phone points Cat5e or Cat6 not just standard phone cable. Is the alarm first fixed.
Get a price for extra points from him.
Get your cost fixed and your extras to a minimum and a decent rate for the extras while you are at it. You will have extras, just limit them as much as possible.

Also its a standalone house, the builder might be on and off site, this would IMO cause an issue with a time and material style job. Ask your friend to give you a quote for the job risks and all and compare the two.

that's what I'd do anyway in my experience time and material never worked out, the motivation is never there friend or not.

    hey first time post
i take your house is 3500 and not 350
one or two things to note
always get price in writing of exatcly what is in the price
make sure the little things are all in
especaily heating and controls, and get a price of everything singley for an extra
another thing is your friend cash and the other quote cash
    how good is your friend,
im doing my friends house tomorrow for free about 2500

and what i think is the main thing ,the cost of cable is not that
much so wire for things now that maybe you wont need for a few years
like alarms ,cat 5 points or maybe just wire a cat 5 cable or two to behind every tele
i could keep talking if you need any help just post
is your friend certified and insured

If your buddy is offering to fdo it at Euro20 an hour he isn't insured or registered , you have no come back & he will have trouble getting a cert to have it connected to the Networks supply
