    Hi
    i got a used pioneer vsax d2011 a/v receiver
i am connecting this to tannoy efx6.1 speakers

as of now, i have 2 sources - sky and dvd player

i need suggestions for cables to connect receiver to sources.

1)optical cable for dvd audio to a/v receiver
    2) normal yellow av cable for dvd video to a/v receiver
3)how to connect sky box to a/v receiver?
no optical output on sky box.
so white and red cable to be connected from sky box to a/v receiver
how to connect sky video to a/v receiver?
there is scart only for output on sky box.

this means i cannot control audio/video via receiver

    pls guide me

You should be able to get a scart adapter which has a scart plug on one end and has sockets on the other end for left and right audio (red and white sockets) and composite video (yellow socket) - looks like this:

available from loads of places - Maplins, for instance - Click Here

Put Scart adaptor in Sky box, use a three-way RCA lead ( red white and yellow which you can also get from Maplins) input to the pioneer - the yellow connects to a composite video-in socket on the Pioneer, the red and wite to audio in - there should be sockets labelled "TV/SAT IN" on the back of the Pioneer - then you need a separate composite video lead going from the video-out of the Pioneer (should be a yellow socket on the back of the Pioneer labelled "Monitor Out") to the similar yellow socket video-in on your tv.

    Ritz.
