miami is great, have been a few times.

would you consider going down to Key West for a few days, it's an amazing place.

only 2 hrs or so to drive down.

other then that check out www.tripadvisor.com on recommendations where to stay in Miami.

We went to Miami on our honeymoon 2 years ago and stayed at The Shore Club, it was gorgeous the rooms were very nice, I would stay around Collins there are lots of hotels there, we go a great deal through trailfinders.
    Enjoy

Just booked 3nts Miami, anyone any good recommendations for hotels on South Beach? Seems fairly expensive from what I've found so far.

Also seems to be a fair few hotels on Collins Avenue but not really near South Beach itself, where's the best for beach/restaurants etc? Not really into mad nightclubs as such wouldn't mind being close to everything

    Hi
Collins ave is only one block or so away from south beach, and it has some lovely hotels along there, check out hotels on tripadvisor and you will get a good idea of prices and reviews

There are lots of hotels on Collins avenue which runs parallel with Ocean drive which is on south beach. Google for hotels on Collins Only a few mins walk to the beach from Collins Ave. Stayed at the hotel Essex it was fine and reasonably priced .
Check out the bars and restuarants on Ocean drive some great restuarants and cheaper than you might think.
Get the airport express shuttle mini bus it was only 10 dollars to South Beach. Check out Lincoln Road for shopping all the designer labels.

If your looking for some fun nightlife I would really recommend going to Key West for a few days. Hire a car its only a few hours drive the drive is spectacular through the Keys stayed at the pegasus hotel on duval st. right in the centre of the action. Hotel wasnt anything fancy but comfortable.. Try and catch fantasy fest if you can, on end of Oct. total craziness!

Me & my two mates stayed in a hotel/hostel called the Tropics
It was nice, basic & quiet & near the beach & lincoln road for the designer shopping.
It was mid january when we were there & was quite reasonable priced

    HI there!!
Myself and the OH stayed on south beach last year! We stayed in the Doubletree surfcomber. Fab hotel! Famous pool that has been featured in loads of U.s tv shows and it backs right onto the beach! Directly across the road is Lincoln ave where its a shoppers paradise! All major stores seemed to be there!! Would recommend 100%!

Found Miami to be a kip to be honest. Be careful, alot of crime. I agree with what someone else said, key west is amazing, scuba diving, swimming with dolphins, the drive itself is brill. Everglades are brilliant too. A must. Easy to get to from Miami.
