Dont know if this is the right place for this???,,,My mum has just found out today that her insurance company have been charging her for a different, bigger engine car for the past 3 years?.. Should she be refunded (I would presume so?) Any ideas about how she should go about it? Thanks all

    Call them.

Tell her to contact the insurance company, they ae usually quick to refund any monies owed (in my experience anyway). If they won't, contact the Ombudsman, or bring the company to the Small Claims Court. Costs your mam next to nothing (even if she lost) and is usually enough to scare companies in to fixing the problem.

That's a bit messed up. On some policies that would mean that she could have been driving around uninsured for the past three years. Of course most older drivers, particularly female ones, are automatically insured on other smaller engined cars than their policy, but still, it is a possibility.

Did she sign the declaration? Did she tell them it was the bigger engine size by mistake?

If so they may not be forthcoming... but see if they'll meet her half way...

    Not really a PI though.

Sorry not a PI. Maybe try the motors forum?
