    Hi Folks,

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of getting wedding invitations at a very reasonable price compared to the ridiculous pricing that is commonly seen.

    Many thanks.

you can buy them in the likes of Marks and Spencers and then print the inserts yourself or else check out diyweddings.ie
I got some of the DIY ones but to be honest I think they may be more hassle than they are worth, I got very frustrated making one so I can't imagine making 100!!
I have priced around for someone to print them, cheapest so far is Lantz but if anyone knows cheaper than that would love to know.

I went to a Design and print company, it worked out at about 550 for everything (120 invites, 60 evening invites, 120 RSVP, 180 thank you cards and 120 Mass booklets covers and a lot of envelopes).

We looked into making them ourselves but it was goign to be too awkward and too time consuming given the number we were looking at.

I did 100 invites with diyweddings.ie. I got envelopes, inserts, and lovely folding envelopes to hold everything before going in the postal envelope, rsvp cards with envelopes, stickers etc. I think the whole thing cost €120 and I printed very simply on a normal printer in work. Was no bother at all and they looked fantastic, everyone loved them. But remember that simplicity is best when looking at this option.

Thanks for the quick replys folks. Yes, it's simplicity is what I am after and I have no intention of spending €550 on wedding invites!! Shocking. I'll check out DIY Weddings and see what they have to offer.

I noticed something similar on American Wedding invitation websites and their prices are not that bad either, but you would want to get a sample first, in case a load of rubbish comes over.

We got ours last year from http://www.princessinvitations.com/ they were really really helpful and reasonable. The reason we went to them was for a particular flower that my wife wanted on them, but they do lots of simple ones too. We susbequently recommended to a friedn who got married last month and used them, same positive experience

Barbiegirl - what ones did you get from Diyweddings?
I still like the idea of using them once I can get one thats not too complicated.

I opted for the cheap and cheerful M&S invitations. They did the trick.
However I added style to the invitation with a specially designed Wedding Invitation Map at www.mapme.ie.
I live in the sticks and it proved useful (rather than the temporary sign option that many people use).
Not a bad addition for 99 euro.

Oooo mapme handy that, we are planning our wedding and the church(s) we have in mind are well off the beaten track. Beats having to run around put up signage and then take it all down again.

my brother used the mapme crowd for his wedding - his wife was from the country- ended up working quite well- was a good talking point after.
I can tell you i've been at a couple of wedings since where we could have done with it

We got save the date cards on vistaprint.ie and I was delighted with them - had originaly picked out invites from somewhere else (that were a lot more expensive) but now decided just to go with vistaprint for those as well. For 10 Save the Date cards, with matching envelopes was under 100 eur.

Another place I had gotten nice samples for was http://www.bigdaycards.com/cards_print.htm
They charge around 1.50 per invite and the lady was very helpful in sending samples and in making changes to the designs on the website if we wanted them etc.

Couldn't justify spending a fortune on something that will end up in the recycling bin in most houses!!

    Hi,
I'm the very same, I don't want to spend silly money on invites so I've decided to send them by email. I got them here www.onlineweddinginvites.net

I'm going to get mine fully printed for 0.40p per invite of a UK Ebay supplier.
I already got samples off him and they are good quality, plus he sent them immediately.
This is a link to the Ebay Shop here
