    Hi everyone,

My gf & I want to go for a holiday 1st wk in Oct,
Keeping in mind that she is 5 months pregnant, I cant decide on where to go.

    Anyone one got any ideas??

Have a budget of about €1000.

Somewhere that would suit a couple in their mid 20's, beach, sun and a good craic, but not too lively like santa ponsa etc

    All views welcome

    Thanks

    Thomas

Is that €1000 each or altogether?

Myself and the hubby (both 29) were in Sardinia a couple of weeks ago and we both loved it. Great weather, great food, overall a very easy going relaxing place. It is expensive though, similar prices to here really. Not sure what the weather would be like in October but I'd say it would still be reasonably nice.

Ryanair fly direct from Dublin to Alghero so if you have a look now you might get a flight fairly cheap.

Old Town of Peurto del Carmen in Lanzarote.great place, food, weather, hospitality.Think Aer Lingus have a sale on for flights there at the mo.

Noticed quite a few pregnant women when I was there last for some reason!

Looked on the Ryanair website, And it works out at €180 for the 2 of us.
Must have a look at some hotels now. Sardinia looks amazing, any resort in particular?

Thanks, but we were in PDC last year, old town is amazing and will prob go back in the future. We had good craic in murphys on the main strip. Tracey the bar owner is sound.

me & my boyf (a small bit youngr than yourselves) went away for a week to puerto del carmen lanzarote last week
    .
very good mix of ages there.. not too family not too lively, a lot of couples!... great atmosphere all round.. also will still be great weather in october due to the location of the island!

all food and drink very cheap... everything very cheap come to think of it.
packed with loads of gorgeous resteraunts and great bars on the main strip also the old town is a lovely walk with a bit more upper class and price resteraunts.(still very significantly cheaper than any reasteaunts in ire)

im sure its a place youd both love... good luck with it!

    No problem deiselad.

We actually hired a car and stayed in two different places. We stayed in a small resort called Baia Sardinia on the north coast for the first three days. This is a VERY small little town/resort with not much to do really, great place to just relax on the beach and chill out, we loved it! The hotel we stayed in was the Mon Repos Hertimage and we were very happy with it. If you look it up on Tripadvisor, there's some pics of the resort and the hotel.

We stayed in Alghero for the rest of the time. This is a much bigger town with a long strip of hotels along the beach stretching out from the old town. It was quite busy when we were there but that was at the very peak of the high season. We stayed in the 3* Hotel Soleado here, rooms were a good standard for a 3*, breakfast wasn't great (never really is in Italy I think) and it has a pool at the front of the building along the road. The beach is directly across this road.

€180 is a brilliant price for the flights, we paid over €500 as we were booking so late. Check out www.justsardinia.co.uk for hotels or else just some of the regular hotel sites like www.booking.com or www.venere.com

Just shout if you need any further help.

I say this in every thread like this but Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt is great for couples. Budget and Falcon both go there.
