The scammer didn't even try to hide their real web address, are they just getting lazy? They didn't even bother doing a proper mail-merge on the e-mail

Didn't you read this perfectly legitimate email? They can't send you to the normal paypal site because of a server update. Hence the penhill-news.co.uk link.

All looks above board to me. Go for it.

Funny and all as these emails are you have to remember those fukers are in actual fact stealing money from people.

Fair enough, natural selection insists that the people scammed should be scammed due to their basic stupidity but for the same reason I wouldn't find a blind man being hit by a car he didn't see, funny, I don't think they're funny.

Fukin thieving, cowardly, pr1cks the lot of them.

She was fairly disappointed when we all started taking the piss! :)

has any one chanced clicking on it?!!

would it lead to a virus or is it just phishing for details, or a reply?

I reckon scammers like that should be shot. They target people with not very good english skills or internet skills. I used to work in a bank and we had this elderly chap from somewhere in the bog of Norway calling that he thought we were paying him money. In fact his account had been cleaned to the last penny. He was living on his own and was somewhere around his late 60ies early 70ies. We all felt so sorry for him but we couldn't do anything at all....

We had an elderly priest visiting at Christmas, he told of a scam where people got emails from there "bank", gave their details and were robbed (my brother and myself sit there smirking). He goes and tells that even a Trinity professer was scammed...but then for the best line...

I got one the other day. I signed the e-mail address up for numerous special offers in the field of babycare, with his name set as 'Mr Stupid Moron'. I only wish I could see the look on his face when babycare companies start e-mailing him abuse! :D

Actually, there's a point. OP, did you report it to Paypal? It's an uphill struggle trying to stop these guys, but just like at ASDA, every little helps.
