Oh too bad, I know someone in Cork who is trying to give away kittens, good luck!

Have you contacted any cat rescue groups?

BTW - its a good idea to get kittens a little bit older than you are want, maybe 10 - 12 weeks. The mother cat teaches them a lot about looking after themselves, keeping clean etc - you would have an easier to mind cat if you get kittens at that age.

try looking on http://petsireland.invisionzone.com there are usually lots of cats/kittens looking for homes. they are also usually happier as a pair so you might consider adopting 2 kittens instead of one. (not any more work really!)

    thx for the advise.

I have found someone who has kittens, and she said it should be fine to take them over the 8 weeks mark, but I might consider over 10 like you advised.

Also I was actually thinking I should probably get two, as they would get lonely. The kitten is a present for my daughter, who has wanted one for ages.

    Anyway thx again.

I think 2 is a great idea. I got two and besides from a few brother sister spats they love each others company. Nothing cuter than 2 kittens playing!

I have 4 kittens - 1 is about 14/15 weeks old is fully vaccinated wormed and deflead. One is 12 weeks old Monday is fully vaccinated wormed and deflead and 2 are 9 weeks old have had their 1st vaccination wormed and deflead - all are vet checked litter trained. Super friendly and are reared along side my cats and dogs so are well socialised - I am in Dublin as well
