    Hi,

I'm looking for a high resolution image of the famous 'pale blue dot' photograph taken from Voyager 1.

    This one here:

    Pale_Blue_Dot_(uitsnede).png

Is anyone able to source one? The higher resolution the better!

Failing that, is anyone aware of any posters that can be bought which are of this photo?

    Cheers

    Cheers mate. I guess that's the highest resolution I'll get(453 x 614) , if it's the original!

    Thanks

It really is an awe inspiring photograph. The first time I saw it was in a video, which included Sagan's essay and poignant photographs (although I would have chosen different music, Clair de Lune by Debussy perhaps :D ) It was the first time I really understood the analogy that earth is nothing more than a speck of dust. I had often heard it said but I never saw it in such an obvious way before. It was an incredible moment. Here is the link to the video if anybody is interested:

tis Sagan reading his essay over images of the earth, and some music

I'm looking for a poster of the various images that the Voyager I spacecraft took of the entire inner solar system. The OP has the image of earth. If you open a copy of "Pale Blue Dot" by Carl Sagan, somewhere towards the front is a magnificent image. It is a composite of the images taken by Voyager I as it spun around on it's trip to the outer solar system. It took photos of the inner solar system. The photo I have in the Carl Sagan book has a small bright dot at the center which is the sun. If you inspect it closely, by blowing away the dust and lint on the page, you'll find the various planets of the inner solar system. A foot note in the book says that the USGS sold this image as a poster for a while. I have never been able to find (google etc.) a place that carries this poster. Any help would be appreciated. I'll even commit to a $10 finders fee, payable via paypal, to anyone who can direct me to a source for a poster sized / framable sized source of this remarkable image. I registered just to post this message, please reply to my public email address which is LookoutforChris@gmail.com.

Thanks, and sorry again for the threadjacking.
