    General

Good spelling and grammar and clear information helps you achieve what you want to do. People are put off by poorly laid out ads that don't include the important details - location (street level accuracy is plenty), type of property, type of letting, rent, facilities, any special requirements.

Be careful about including personal details in ads - name, exact address, phone number, e-mail. boards.ie has a sytem for sending private messages if you want to make contact.

If you are looking for somewhere to live

Mark you thread as "[Wanted]". Explain who you are and what you are looking for and whereabout you want to live.

If you are looking for someone to share with

Mark you thread as "[Share]". Explain who you are and what you are looking for and whereabout you want to live.

If you are renting out your property

Mark you thread as "[Available]". Include the important details - location (street level accuracy is plenty), type of property, type of letting, rent, facilities, any special requirements.

    I'm confused.

While how to create an advertisement is clear from this the charter says "No pimping, selling or advertising will be tolerated" So my question is, which is it, is advertising allowed or not?

    There are certain exceptions.

You are allowed to put your own ad here for Third-Level Accommodation, whether you want to share, are looking for somewhere or are offering somewhere.*

    * We don't mind people offering rooms to lodgers or renting out single house. However, if you are a commercial operator, please talk to a moderator.
