That's bad news about Boston Scientific. It seems that there are very few companies immune from the cuts at the moment. They seemed from the outside that they were a great company to get into - ie work hard but pay well in management/ engineering positions.
I did do an interview about 4 years ago as a Quality Engineer / Manager in their plant in Galway. I was interviewed by a Quality Manager and a HR person. I thought that the interview went really well and I had great experience and knbowledge in the areas they were looking and I actually suspected that I knew more than the girl interviewing me. That was the only time in my career that I felt that a QA person interviewing me was not 100% sure of her brief. I then got a thanks but no thanks two days later.

Needless to say I never applied to Boston S. again.
