Easting/Northing conversion to Lat/Long

    Hi,

    I was given am Easting Northing location in Wexford
    Easting: 319 730
    Northing: 156 254

    Has anyone any idea how I can convert the above into Lat/Long??

    For what it's worth, five decimal places in a grid reference in the format of decimal degrees as I have quoted above gives you accuracy down to 2 cms Latitude and 1 cm Longitude - the number for Latitude is constant and the number quoted for Longitude is valid for this part of the world, it diminishes as you travel away from the Equator where it's 2 cms to the Poles where it's zero.

    So anything great than five digits is really useless. I'm not criticising anyone in the thread, I know the results probably came out of a spreadsheet or calculator but five digits is more than enough.
