Big 4 Closing Regional Offices

Was sitting in at final interview round this evening for a senior role, doing due diligence on some of the final round candidates. 80% of the applicants were from one of the Big 4 which was a surprise. Ask what was going on at that firm. Seemingly this Big 4 four is closing the majority of their regional offices.

Anyone else here this, thought it would have been published somewhere. Maybe it has and I am not on the ball.

Define regional. Outside the US you mean or outside Dublin.

Well, I was surprised when I heard through the grapevine (100% true) that a college student from my (now complete) uni course had her job with one of the Big 4 in Galway lost because they weren't taking on anyone anymore.

So a regional office close-down seems plausible. At any rate it might mean graduates would only be in Dublin and not outlying cities around the country.

This is probably the laggard of the Big 4 in Ireland. No surprises if it is. It needs a good kick up the back side.

Yeah seems Galway closes first followed by Limerick, Waterford. I think Cork by the sounds of it isnt scheduled for next year and Belfast looks like its escaping due to the financial services amendment.

Amazing really, thought these offices had more of a solid business plan. Anyway the impression these managers are giving off is that the place is in chaos and their jumping ship.
