What do you want to use it for? How portable do you need it to be?

12MP is obviously good, but sometimes a good optical zoom is more important - I use a Panasonic Lumix with 10x Optical, 4X Digital and find it great - also has great wide angle for close-up groups

I take it this is because it's todays iBOOD?

Have a look around and you might find it's not such teriffic value.

Always stay away from digital zoom. Only look at the optical zoom option.

Digital zoom is like when you take the photo in to Photoshop or something, and then crop down. It degrades the quality of the image.
