What sporting event would you like to attend?

A friend of mine recently said she would love to go to the Olympics and view some of the track and field events. I'm pretty much of the opinion that I'd rather watch it all on TV where I can see it properly without some fool waving a flag in front of my face obscuring my vision or without being miles away from the action and having to squint to see anything.

However, I recognise that I'm in the minority here so what sporting event that you have never yet attended would you like to attend?

    Olympics?
    World Cup Final?
    Rugby Union World Cup final?
Tenpin Bowling World Championships? *cough* :D

Well, if I could go back in time I'd like to go to the Ireland V England, or Ireland V France games in Croke Park.

That or France V. New Zealand at the Millennium stadium in World Cup 07 (I had tickets for it, but could go).

I'd rather watch athletics on TV or participate in it.

I'm thinking of taking two weeks off during the summer in four years time and just trying to get into as much stuff as possible in London.

+1 for me. The London Olympics is deffo on the cards. Failing that, the World Athletics Championships.

My brother in the US usually comes back for a couple of weeks each year bringing the kid with them but he's already said he's probably not going to now until 2012 so that he can save up the money to buy as many event tickets as possible. At least we have free accomodation available in London.

I have never been to an Olympics but barring something terrible happening between now and then, I will be there for the whole of the Olympics in four years time.

Wouldn't care if it was the final or not, just as long as it's not the mens competition. Due to the lack of stuff on during part of today BBC had to resort to showing that today.

    The horror.

Currently watching the show jumping part of the Modern Pentathon on one of the BBC feeds. It's far more interesting than anything else I've seen so far in the Olympics. Everyt rider is having great difficulty in getting a clean round and most of them tend to fall off in some spectacular fashion. One chap just got hurled off his mount which then rolled over him and then started to run away with the riders leg still caught up in the saddle.

Fantastic stuff to watch so think I might have to try for tickets to that in 2012 as well.

I've attended an Olympics, but I was young and would like to go again. Other than that, I would love to go to a gymnastics World Championships or the Superbowl. I've never been to either and I think it would be a lot of fun.

as a spectacle itself or for the sport?

Superbowel I think would be mental or FIFA World Cup final.

I'm sure my bro will think of something else we should go to tho. :/

I plan on going to some of the smaller events in London. As much as I love some of the bigger events such as athletics, I'm going to take the opportunity to watch a few sports I've never really watched before.

I'm definitely going to one or two of the kayaking events with my dad as he loves it.

Something I would have loved to have gone to would be the 1994 World Cup in NY. My dad won tickets and went but hates soccer so it was such a waste.

Seeing as I've been to every hurling All Ireland since '98 and had the same with the football until last year. I'd say Superbowl.
