I've split this off from the other thread.

You will get a better response here.

You need to go to www.pac.ie

    click postgrad diploma in Ed.

    Click literature downloads

    click recognised degrees for eligibility

then look for your degree on the list.

If your degree is there you can teach whatever subject it states you qualify for.

If your degree is not on the list you must apply to the teaching council to have it recognised

You should be aware of the fact that as things currently stand - and I don't imagine there'll be dramatic changes in 4 years - that there is a quota on Business graduates for Post-Graduate Diploma in Education purposes.

The initial upshot of this is that the points required of business graduates are exceptionally high, and would require a comfortable first or a Masters (which in itself would probably require a half-decent second class degree) to get in as a Business graduate.

Obviously the fact that there is a quota at all may suggest difficulties getting employment at the end of it all.

If teaching is your ultimate plan, you probably have not picked the best course to do. I am not sure what your options are but it is something to be aware of right now rather than being disappointed four years down the line.
