    Hi there,

Wonder if you can help. I am looking to get a laptop with a Firewire 800 (IEEE 1394b) connection but cannot find one. If I am looking to hook up a Lacie drive that has Firewire 800 on it, do I need a connection that can cater for this or will the standard IEEE 1394 connection allow me to get the speed of the 800 - assume I will need a special cable also.

Am looking to transfer videos from video editing from the laptop to the external HDD

    Any help appreciated.
