    Hi
I hold a UK SKY FTV card.
can I buy Sky mix packs on this card?

do I have to subscribe for SKY and then add sky mixes?

i just want to add a few channels from the sky package.

    Not on an Irish address.

Besides you would not get the 4 Irish channels on Mainland UK address and on NI address no TV3 and occasional blackouts on the others.

is it worth going ahead with a FTV card + sky mix or get a new irish sub card?

correct me if i am wrong-
on ftv card, i need to pay £16(min sub) + sky mix
on new irish sub card it will be €21+sky mix

so there is no point in going with the FTVcard + sky mix.

or do they just give the sky mixes without that minimum subscription on a FTV card?

A FTV card is really only Five and its sister channels. Nothing else.

There is no sub for a FTV card. It's a once off payment.

I have one of these cards for use in a spare room. is there anyway i can get Irish channels, i've tried adding them in "Other Channels". I have them on my Sky box in the living room through the same dish.

    simple answer: No
Irish channels only available on subscription.

or you could connect up an aerial (rabbits ears)
