I know this is slightly off topic however with the GAA being a proud part of our Irish culture, i feel we should have a thread to say goodbye to one of the greatest Irish performers and ambassadors of all time. To be honest, his passing was far more upsetting than the Dubs loss to me. Grew up listening to and loving his music and he is one of many reasons im proud to call myself Irish. So, goodbye Ronnie Drew, you will be sadly missed. RIP

PS. As i said, i know its off topic from the forum but its only 1 thread and one i think interests many here but if it shouldnt be here feel free to remove it.

A quintessential Dubliner. He will be missed by all. Part of the GAA's mission is to spread Irish culture and Ronnie Drew did a brilliant job.

A true legend. There will be some party above tonight, with Luke Kelly.

I am going to lock this thread. This is a large and general message board, which means that there are loads of places to discuss this topic.

    What a great musician though
