    Hi,
Wonder if anyone can help with this. When I was a student working in Us I was arrested for being drunk in public ( didn't think I was but stupid I know ) and fined $90 in court ( which I didn't pay as I was going back home the following week. I have planned to holiday in the Us in November, will this hamper me re-entering Us?

US embassy would probably be best bet to ask http://dublin.usembassy.gov/contact_us.html
Let us know in case question comes up again.

Being arrested for public drunkiness is not something that would normally prevent you from entering under the VWP. However failure to pay the fine will probably result in you being arrested when you land, hauled up in court, fined and deported. At least thats what happened to a friend of mine a few years back after failing to pay a speeding fine one summer and then going back a few years later.

You might be ok if you're travelling to a different state than where you were caught. It's risky though. Depends on whether failure to pay a fine is a felony offence.

Best bet is fly direct from Ireland. That way if it's an issue you'll get refused entry on this side of the water rather than being deported once you've arrived
