Yesterday UPC installed a cable box this is my first time with UPC (Chorus) cable, I assume this box also has a modem, my question is how do I see the quality of the signal, can I go into setup or some type of diagnostic? the picture appears to be good I have a Panasonic Plasma Viera.

    Thanks in advance

Give a pic of the box or model number etc. Some people might already know what it should be. On my pace I can go into a service mode and check signal strength.

If the pic is fine is there any reason you want to know? now I think of it the UPC guy should have checked it, so it would be good to note it now, and if it degrades in the future you can quote the figures to them.

it tells you how to check signal strength on the quick start guide, assuming the engineer gave you one!

The engineer did not leave an instruction guide only a safety leaflet, the brand is Thompson on the safety leaflet. its an integrated decoder and digital recorder, and help appreciated.

I'd not assume the DVB-c receiver has a modem. Some do and some don't.

The current ones UPC are rolling out do have modems.
