Its not a huge problem but just want your opinions.

Going out with my boyfriend for a while and things are going great. The problem is sometimes during a conversation or a fight he throughs in a comment about my ex.

Its not a comment to get at me e.g we had a fight and he said sorry shouldnt of said that ,is that like something your ex would of said during the row so by bringing him into it,it makes things worse.

Or we were on a night out and he was not feeling well so he was sitting there quiet which was understandable but he turned to me and said am i being like your ex all quiet cos he knows thats what my ex was like.

I just dont get it and i hate my ex always being mentioned any suggestions??

Have you told him this? If so, try telling him again.

In terms of the amount of advice you're going to receive, this is a very simple problem. You simply need to communicate. I would guess he does this because he either feels insecure in his actions, as though if he is too much "like your ex" you'll get sick of him and leave him, or he likes to know that when he's doing something he thinks you won't like that he wants to remind you of all the bad things your ex did that you didn't like, ergo validating him(your current bf).

But none of that matters, because it's all speculation. Only you can get the answers and solve the problem, by talking to him.

You must have spoken about your ex a lot when you first started going out and that is always playing in your BF's head. Nobody likes hearing about who has been there before you.

You'll have to ask him why he does it and ask him to stop!
