Flights from Galway cut off

Just wondering why not only Aer Arran from Galway, but now Ryan air, have stopped flights from Galway and Shannon to Leeds/Bradford airport? Being on these flights many times, they were pretty busy, if not every day, then couldnt they run once or twice per week?

Also, why did the Ryan air to Humberside airport flight only last a few months?

If i want to go i have to treck all the way to Dublin on either trains that are nearly always held up, coaches that are uncomfortable and stuffy, or car that is a harrowing journey and costs a mint in the car park.

These flights were always available, and it is like the west is in isolation now - there is life outside of Dublin - i promise, an awful lot of it actually, especially as Galway is such a busy city, and as i understand it Aer Arran are even looking to extend the run way and airport.

Why or why does it always seem, Dublin 10 the rest of the country nil poi?

Why don't you ask Aer Arran or Ryanair directly?

I read an article last month on how the regional Irish airports were struggling to survive and if things got worse Galway would be the worst hit and maybe the first to close.

Ryanair are dumping off alot of their less profitable routes due to falling passenger numbers and higher fuel prices. As someone who lives in Leeds (originally from Tipp) the flights were great, really handy and their loss, especially the Shannon one, is a pain in the proverbial.

Your best bet is to use Manchester. I get the direct train to Manchester Airport to and from Leeds. Takes about an hour and a quarter...direct to the airport and you can catch the regular Ryanair flight from manchester to shannon thus avoiding the Dante-esque horror that is Dublin Airport...which, frankly I would fly to Belfast to avoid!!!!

You can also fly to Cork from Manchester which may be better for you?*edit...oops no, you're in Galway...*
