Anyone who has an Odyssey 2-Ball, what type do you have and why?
Do you have a mallet or blade style and why did you choose it?
And finally do you prefer the White Hot, White Steel or DFX?

I have a 2-Ball DFX (the black one) Blade. I prefer the look of the mallet style although there's not much difference. And I've read that the White Hot has a softer face than the DFX and for some reason I think that I would be more comfortable with that one.

I'd like to get some opinions on 2-Balls before I splash out on a new one.

I bought one around this time last year and i lasted about 2 months with it. Just wasn't for me. Not my style at all and i think i only bought it because i came back to the game, believed the hype, and thought this thing would be the answer.

I found it too cumbersome, both in terms of feel and the look of it. It was an XG blade.

I have the 2 ball blade. exact model i can't remember. i'll edit it when i know.

I like it because I find I can swing straight back and forward much better with it. little or no taking the putt offline.

like all clubs you must like it in your hands for it to work is my opinion.

i have white hot 2 ball putter, got a loan of 1 for a round 2 years ago and had 2 get one next day. Putting improved 100% since changeover. I also got it shortened (33inch)and reweighted and rebalanced when i bought it, feels perfect in my hands and feels like i can make every putt.

Where did you get all those modifications done and how much did it cost?
Is is important to get it reweighted and rebalanced if you get it shortened?

Mitchels golf shop in waterford is where i bought mine and got it readjusted. Took about 10 mins and 10euro. Those 10 mins and ten euros have taken 6
stokes of my handicap. I use the putter more than any other club in the bag so its worth having one your happy with.( Be happy with your putter and you will make lots of putts.)

If you dont get it rebalanced after shortening it its no advantage

My putter is a 35 inch and I tend to grip at the very bottom of the grip which isn't as comfortable as the top (IMO). So if I don't get a new one I might look into doing the same as you. Hopefully I'll find someone in Dublin to do it as cheap. Couldn't be too hard.

Premier golf in Santry did mine for me. I got it shortened to 31 inches and a new grip put on it (as they tried but couldn't re-fit the old one).

I think it cost me 15 euro, which was basically just for the grip. Hope that helps.

I didn't get mine re-balanced though but i'm having no problems with it as it is.

I was thinking of going for a Rossie. I'm not a fan on the Mallet as i find them hard to get a feel of but my playin partner swears by his and he's been cut down to a 12 handicap recently

Which putter did you get to replace the 2ball in the end, Graeme?

I bought a second hand Ping Ping Craz-E mallet head putter last year and I wouldn't swap it for the world. It just feels so right for me!

Well, I would consider getting the latest model of the same putter maybe, but I'd happily put with this baby for the rest of my days.
