Sorry to hear that lad, maybe try over in Personal Issues, theres a few friendly heads over there who maybe able to help. More likely to get slagged over here.

Be very careful about consuming large quantities of water, there was an article about that in the Times Health Supplement. You probably have to lower your sodium intake to cause any real harm, but all the same be careful. :)

You need to fill up on any isotonic drink you can lay your hands on. Lucozade or Lucozade sport are probably easiest to find.

Also, if you can get to your local pharmacy, try either milk thistle which is a good alternative remedy or get some sachets of Dioralyte which will rehydrate you (meant for the trots, but contains lots of essentials you need for rehydration).

Important to keep sugar levels up so I'd recommend a good protein-based meal too.

You'll be fine after a good sleep OP:)

If it's just drink you were on then I'd advise sticking your fist as far down your throat as possible untill you vomit and keep doing that until you have no more of the left over drink in your stomach. Then you eat a big greasy fry. Once you get your appetite back after a terrible hang over, I seriously don't think there's a more satisfying feeling in the world, besides cuming all over yore aul one.

    Hiya
Hope you are through the worst of the DTs by now. You said you were sober for 8 years....are you in AA? If yes contact someone from there and get to a meeting as soon as you can. Don't beat yourself up about the relapse but try and figure out what was the trigger that got you started again. 8 years sobriety is fantastic so just try and get back in your feet and keep sober a day at a time. Take care of yourself. By the way theres a chat room for 12 steps it's called step chat. There might be someone on there who can help you back up. Take care xx
