First you have to find a degree which the teaching council will recognise i.e is on their list of approved degrees. The list might be found at the teaching council website or else maybe www.pac.ie . This degree will take 3 to 4 years. Points vary wildly depending where you do it. When you find a suitable degree look up the points on www.cao.ie or www.qualifax.ie

after you get your degree you have to do a post graduate diploma in education for a year. Entry to this is based on the results of your degree for most colleges. You can also get points for entry to the pgde for teaching experience and other qualifications
