    Hi there

As the title suggests, myself and my best friend are looking into going away for Xmas/ January and I am just posting this to ask peoples suggestion on where is a good place to travel at that time of year.
We went to Thailand last year, so don't really want to go there again (even though we loved it, just looking for something new).
Oz is out as I think it would be too expensive, and too big for just 5weeks travel.
How is NZ at that time of year? We were thinking of maybe renting a campervan and travelling round. Good idea?
We're looking for a bit of adventure, that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Warm would be good (summer clothes=lighter to carry around in a backpack).
Backpacks, hostels and buses/ trains are what we call fun :)

So if anyone has any suggestions, that would be great.
    Thanks for your time,
    Fi

I went to South Africa last xmas and new years and had a ball, Cape Town and Safari, and the garden route is supposed to be lovely!

    Weather was great.

Argentina and/or Bolivia? Plenty to do. I was there last January and it was fab! You could fly in and out of Buenos Aires (amazing city), then take a trip up to Iguazu, then over to mendoza and even take a bus trip over the Andes .... great steaks too! :D
