I'm running Vista, what would be the easiest way to hook up my sky box(normal one, not HD) to my PC?Would I need a tv card, and which one would be the cheapest (not best )My telly died and can't afford a new one, so I thought maybe.....cheapo card?????

i have a Hauppage HVR 1300 MCE in my pc with a chorus digital box connected...

works perfectly in terms of getting sound and a picture but in my case the mce remote however is not 100% compatable with my sagem set top box but that is cos my set top box is new i guess...(it does work but only a few buttons work) i have it connected via composite cables and a scart to composite adapter (easily got at maplin)

i use the wintv software instead of vista's mce and i use the set top box remote instead of the mce remote.

there is better support for sky boxes in vista than there is for chorus digital so my guess is try that card

Thank you, will look into it! How a telly would cost less than €85 is beyond me....my huband wants to wait and buy a €1300 Samsung job.....:D
