Looking for people who are doing this course.

I got offered it today instead of my desired choice of comp science in d.i.t

How is Blanchardstown? Is this course good? Are people happy enough with it..etc?

It's five years since i finished there but it wasn't bad. The course and coursework/facilities etc... were pretty good/brand new. Not a huge social scene(although this may have changed by now). You should enjoy the course.

Get stuck in straight away. A lot of people when they start college don't do much in the first few weeks then end up lost and dis-heartened. Esp. in engineering courses etc.

Anything in particular you want to know about ITB let me know.

Slightly OT: Sorry for hijacking this thread, but I thought you might be interested in this. I've put in a request for an IT Blanchardstown forum. If you are interested, post your support here.

OP - if you wanted to do comp sci in DIT then there is no way you will like computer engineering. I did the course in ITB years ago and absolutely hated it. The programming and computer network side of things was good, but tbh it was much, much more about physics and electronics than "computer science".

Yes.:pac: It's a bit more involved than just being able to build a PC but yes.

Why don't you visit the college?

I worked in Blanchardstown and quit on my first day - the area was just too depressing.

So before you commit yourself to 4 years of Blanchardstown you should go have a look around and see if you like the place.

I went to blanch for a week and quit, I wasn't driving though and had to walk from end of dual carriageway slip road to the college :( and then back after. I wouldnt like to live as a student up there either as no one else seems to. Drive to it would be my main advice
