Why would someone rebuy their DVD collection on Bluray. I am buying only new movies and ones I do not have on DVD.

I know lots of people that are doing just that (me too, but only with movies i'm definitely gonna watch at least a few more times)

It's kind of like why people keep upgrading their pcs, some people just want the best there is out there i guess....

not have to buy there entire DVD collection again

Why would you do that? All BR players upscale DVD's anyway... but with the added benefit of using the real BR discs with BR Live etc.

As for sales, I know a manager of a HMV and he said they're selling loads. Says it's taken off since HD-DVD died. Overall, the format has 7% market share on DVD, where HD-DVD officially has 0% market share and DVD takes up the remaining 93%

I highly doubt DVDs upscaled to 1080p will ever match/beat Blu-ray
