I'm planning on going to Iceland in early October. Wallace are all booked up up until novmber. I was on to Heffernans and they can offer me a 3 night break for €499pp. Has anyone been to Iceland? Is 3 nights enough or would I be better off trying to book the flights and accomodation seperately?

I don't know how much this helps, but I have been reading a very enjoyable report of a trip to Iceland here: http://www.fodors.com/forums/threadselect.jsp?fid=2&tid=35149520

Suggest do a search of Boards, myself and others have posted lots about Iceland. Try here and here.

3 nights is enough to get a good feel for the place, but it’s a much bigger country than you may expect, so 3 days is sufficient to get to grips with Reykjavik and maybe one or two other places, such as Golden Circle route and Blue Lagoon. Don’t try to pack too much in, as you wont get it all done.
I reckon 3 nights is a good intro. If you like it then do a return trip ticket only and really see the country.
