    Hello,
we are new in Castlebar (in Ireland too).
Does anybody know where exactly is HSE office in Castlebar?
I have to apply for medical card and back to school allowance.
I'm looking also for any gp with free spaces for medical card patients, if somebody knows, will be grateful.

    Best regards for everyone.

The office is to the left side of the county clinic (the part of the hospital in front of the TF Hotel) They will give you a form to get signed by your doctor. They may also be able to advise you of doctors in the town who have places left. Try Dr Longs across from the Welcome Inn Hotel, there are 3 doctors so they may be able to take you. Also, the community welfare officer is based there so they would know about the BTS allowance.

If you are new to Ireland, you must be a citizen of another EU country to qualify for any of the benefits you mentioned. There may also be residency obligations before you get an entitlement to any state benefit here.
