Well thats a bright new inventive Idea :P

but, Carlow IT is actually called, IT Carlow, so its ITC not CIT. CIT is Cork IT which as it happens is pretty close to Limerick and personally I believe that Cork and Limerick should have a joint Insitute.

I too completed CSM, and i really enjoyed it. Some of the subjects are a waste of time, but overall its decent. Although it was only CSM in 3rd year for me. I did CNOC (Computer Networking) for 2 years, then CSM for 3rd year, and finally ITM (Information Tech Management) for my last year.

i did 'computer application and commercial programming', what a title, for two years, then i did the third year computing, now i'm going into systems managment. The fourth year has the work placement. I'd be interested in hearing about placements if anyone did it?

    Its 900 i believe

don't really know where to start with this reply. It's my own fault really, basically i did my leaving cert, took a year out and did a secretarial course which i really enjoyed. I wanted to do a further course on the Admin side of computing and my career guidance gave me this one.

I went into this course completly blind, i only ever used applications on computers. I had never taken a computer apart, i didn't know any of the names of the bits inside, i didn't know any of their functions. My first day of college they put a tower on the table and told us to take it apart and put it back together and make sure its working. This was just completely alien to me. The others in my course were so far ahead of me it was unreal, they built computers for a hobby! my hobby was horses!!

So anyway i got through first year and said, well i'm half way there might aswell do second year, did second year and passed and everyone told me that a cert was useless you need a degree. one more year and i'd have a degree so i did that. Now i'm back in the situation again, if i do one more year i'll have an honors degree.

I suppose i didn't enjoy it because it was something i just had no interest in. I don't care what bits are in a computer or how a LAN works or how to install an operating system. I hated programming, that was the worst part.

However, saying that, if i could pass anyone could. I still don't know what i'm going to get out of it.

if your into computers, you like working on them, building them, programming different applications, and then you've the business side of it to, teaching you how to teach!

there was 80 in my first year, about half of that went into second year and there was 6-7 at a rough count from the original first year in third year. Now obviously there was others who transferred in and you had the foreign students for year long periods.

sure try it, if you dont' like it at least you tried.

AH cheers for your honest opinion. I wasn't to be a lecturer at the end like. I love working with computers so that part is covers. I have a fetac cert in Infomation Technology. I hope I end up going college this year I have money problems so. Anyways good luck, don't waste your time on a course you don't like.
